the nomad is the playable protagonist of hiraeth. when the game is first opened, the player gets to pick which character they want.
in the opening cutscene, they are heading into a dark cave at the edge of a decaying city, where an oracle perches on a moss-covered stone dais.
the oracle, ofalte, prophesies about a mage who could restore the nomadโs now barren hometown into the vibrant city it once was.
thereafter, the oracle bestows an enchanted map upon the nomad, and they set off into the world of axura.
